Tenderfoot Mountain (a.k.a. “W” Mountain) is home to one of the oldest human dwellings in North America, dating back more than 12,350 years. The site serves as a learning laboratory for field work and ongoing research for Western’s anthropology program.

Western’s mountain rescue team is the only collegiate certified mountain rescue team in the country. They conduct search and rescue missions throughout Colorado.
