History
  • Western State Colorado University was the first public liberal arts college west of the Mississippi River.
  • Founded in 1901 as Colorado State Normal School, just 12 years later, we became Western State College of Colorado. In 2012, we became Western State Colorado University.
Accreditation
  • Western State Colorado University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
